Community Olive Press and Open House at McEvoy

If you have olives (between 1 and 250 pounds), you can bring them to McEvoy on Sunday, eat snacks and drink warm drinks while everyone’s olives are milled together. Cost is $1 a pound and everyone who brings in olives will get a bottle of oil commiserate with the amount of olives you brought in. Call (866) 617-6779 or go online to pre-register. Petaluma’s Holiday Lighted Boat Parade

In the annual Holiday Lighted Boat Parade, a  flotilla of decorated, lighted vessels glide up the Petaluma river into the Historic Downtown Petaluma Harbor at the turning basin. The lighted boats remain throughout the night in the Historic Downtown harbor behind the Great Petaluma Mill. The best viewing is on Water St., Jack Balshaw Bridge, Golden Eagle Shopping Center,  or at the Petaluma Yacht Club. (the Petaluma Downtown Association Holiday Open House will be in the afternoon. Local merchants will offer   photos with Santa, caroling, Horse & Carriage rides, Hot apple cider, treats, etc.)

Expedition Island Pass for Good Grades

Since the term is starting to wind down, it’s time for a good grade reminder: Expedition Island is offering  a free pass for one of their Good Grade Days for Sonoma (and Marin) students in 4th-10th grade who earn a B average or better. The school with the most qualifying report cards—measured as a % of total enrollment—will win a $500 donation towards physical fitness or outdoor programs.

Kids can turn in a copy of their  B average (or better) report card in person to Expedition Island or mail it to 755 Southpoint Blvd Suite 101A, Petaluma, CA 94954. Limit of one report card per child. Call (707) 780-4222 for more info.
