Finally Fridays at Wilson Winery

On select summer Fridays from 6 to 8 p.m. you can picnic on Wilson Winery’s redwood deck overlooking the Dry Creek Valley and listen to the music of various Sonoma County live bands.
If you don’t have time to make a picnic you can call or email the winery by noon on Thursday to reserve a $20 plate of food and glass of wine. (707-433-4355 or info@wilsonwinery.com).

Pamela Sheldon Johns of Food Artisans is perhaps best known for her cooking workshops in Tuscany (named a top cooking school by Food & Wine magazine). But she’s also the author of numerous cookbooks, including “Gelato!” (I know it’s not right for a picnic, but summer is here…) and “Festive Picnics“. There is something so relaxed and luxurious about brunch, but it can also be pretty pricey. Mark Weiss from Raymond’s Bakery has created an elegant picnic brunch that rivals some of Sonoma County’s finest restaurants—and the view is to die for.
If you go in Spring, you can sip a take-out latte and watch the seal pups cavort on the beach; they’re more active early in the morning when the grown seals are back from their evening hunts.
