Merlove
It’s a little too high a price to fit my usual “cheap” tag, but it is not too bad, and it might be a fun date night:
The Wine Library Associates of Sonoma County are having a showing of MERLOVE, a documentary about merlot. There will be a dessert reception following the film. Meet the Director/Producer Rudolf N. McClain at the reception.

Happy Birthday Elvis
Elvis, last sighted in a mental institution in Denmark (or a gas station in Baton Rouge, a 7-11 in Shakopee, MN, sunning on small Pacific Island, dining with extraterrestrials, or lounging at Elvis Rock on the Napa River, depending on who’s reporting it) turns 75 next Friday.
If you’re willing to venture into Napa County, you can celebrate with Casa Nuestra Winery in St. Helena with a free showing of the movie “Wild in the Country” at the Cameo Theatre. “Wild in the Country” is an Elvis Presley movie (natch) made in 1961 and portions were filmed at Casa Nuestra Winery and the Cameo Theatre itself (then called the Roxy). Jan. 8th also happens to be the winery’s 30th birthday. Admission is free, but seating is limited so call 707-963-5788 to reserve your spot. [Read more →]
