Guerneville’s Annual Tree Lighting and Open House Tonight
Guerneville’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in the town square at 6:15 pm tonight (December 1, 2011)
There will also be a Merchant Open House all along Main Street 5-9 pm with refreshments, hot drinks, holiday shopping, caroling all throughout the town & around the tree. Santa Claus pictures for the kids.

Community Olive Press and Open House at McEvoy
McEvoy Ranch is holding a community olive pressing. If you have olives (between 1 and 250 pounds), you can bring them to McEvoy on Sunday, eat snacks and drink warm drinks while everyone’s olives are milled together. Cost is $1 a pound and everyone who brings in olives will get a bottle of oil commiserate with the amount of olives you brought in. Call (866) 617-6779 or go online to pre-register. (McEvoy’s Holiday Open House follows the milling event. It’s free, but reservations are required. Register online here.)

Petaluma’s Holiday Lighted Boat Parade
In the annual Holiday Lighted Boat Parade, a flotilla of decorated, lighted vessels glide up the Petaluma river into the Historic Downtown Petaluma Harbor at the turning basin. The lighted boats remain throughout the night in the Historic Downtown harbor behind the Great Petaluma Mill. The best viewing is on Water St., Jack Balshaw Bridge, Golden Eagle Shopping Center, or at the Petaluma Yacht Club. (the Petaluma Downtown Association Holiday Open House will be in the afternoon. Local merchants will offer photos with Santa, caroling, Horse & Carriage rides, Hot apple cider, treats, etc.)

Annual Lighting of the Snowmen
The annual Lighting of the Snowmen will take place at Cornerstone Sonoma on Saturday. There will be popcorn balls, cotton candy, face-painting by Popo the Clown, a kids’ holiday craft table, hot chocolate, grab-bag gifts, photo booth,six different raffles with fancy, pick-your-own prizes and the lighting of an entire platoon of lighted plastic snowmen.
