The Petaluma Downtown Association presents 2nd Saturday Art Walks through historic Downtown Petaluma. Stroll through town and visit the galleries and merchants who dedicate wall space to visual art. You can download a map of the Petaluma Merchants participating in Saturday Artwalks here.

Newspaper is an amazing art material and it’s free! In this workshop you will discover and learn many techniques of reusing newspaper to create sculpture that defies gravity using colored masking tape, crimpers, shredders, and punches. Attendance is limited to 45 children age 7 – 12. Please register at the Northwest Branch’s Children’s Desk or phone the library at 546-2265.

Our friends at Madison on the Cheap found a cool art project: a free paper pattern and directions that you can download from the fan blog “Alice 2010″ to make a 3D paper Cheshire Cat. It’s not a little kid project, but kids old enough to handle an exacto knife can probably handle it.
