Free Pumpkin Carving Patterns
I love an artfully done original Jack O’Lantern, but my attempts frighten the squash more than the trick or treaters.
I’ve found a Jack O’ Lantern pattern saves a lot of time and frustration. So here are a few of my favorite online sources for free pumpkin carving stencils:
The pumpkin lady has many patterns you can buy, but she offers several free pumpkin carving patterns here. If you follow her on facebook or twitter, she’ll make even more free patterns available to you.
Last year, Better Homes and Gardens had free pet pumpkin stencils, and they’re still cached in the web site. Got a favorite boxer or poodle you want to represent in a squash? Here are the patterns to help you do that.
Better Homes & Gardens has a online tool to create your own pumpkin stencil, here.
You can find templates for Disney Character Pumpkins, here. They’ve got Micky Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Snow White, Tigger, even Donald Duck in a Devil’s costume.
Pumpkins Masters has a few free pumpkin carving patterns here.
And if you are looking for free UN-Halloween pumpkin stencils, you can find Christian themes, “I Love America” themes, animals, comedians, famous people (I actually find Hillary Duff as a pumpkin a little scary), Thanksgiving turkey, bride and groom, and several other Un-Halloween patterns at pumpkinglow.com.
If you haven’t gotten your pumpkin yet, you might want to check out the pumpkin patches listed in our 2011 Sonoma County Halloween Events listing.
If you are craftier than I am, you might want to check out Just Something I made, by Petaluman Cathe Holden. She has some amazing Halloween craft instructions, including a spider web rug, copper metalic gourd embellishing (gorgeous!) and haunted house luminary and party treat boxes.
