Sonoma County Fourth of July Events
As usual—and in spite of the wicked budget cuts most communities are facing—there are a number of 4th of July festivities in Sonoma County (some on July 3rd so if you can’t get enough of fireworks and red, white & blue, you’re in luck). Here’s a list of the free or cheap Fourth of July events in Sonoma County:
Bodega Bay
Fireworks over Bodega Bay. Starts at 9:30 pm at Westside Park. Can be viewed from many spots around the bay. Free.
Russian River
Guerneville. The Downtown Guerneville Crafts Faire runs from 10am-6pm in the Guerneville Plaza, the Russian River Rotary BBQ with chicken, ribs and beer/wine bar from 1pm-7 pm at Oddfellows Hall. The Grand Finale is fireworks over the river. Free starting at 10 am. For more info call: (707) 869-9000
Monte Rio Fireworks & Parade of Lites
Free, starting at dusk. For more info, call (707) 865-9956
Windsor
Windsor’s Fireworks will be seen from the Windsor High Campus (NOT Keiser Park like in previous years). There will be pre-fireworks DJ beginning at 6:30 and food or drink for sale by the booster clubs. Fireworks start approx. 9;30 pm. Admission $1.
July 4
Cloverdale
The  Lion’s Club Fireworks display starts at dusk at the Cloverdale High School Football Field. Free.
Healdsburg
The 20th Annual Fireworks Show presented by the American Legion – Sotoyome Post 111, will be held at the Healdsburg High School Athletic Field. Fireworks start at 9:30 pm.
Petaluma
Fireworks, live music, kids activities, food, wine and crafts vendors at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds in Petaluma. Gates open at 4 pm, fireworks start at dusk.
Sonoma Valley
The 2nd Annual B.R. Cohn Winery Charity Car Classic will be held at the B.R. Cohn Winery on Sunday, July 4, 2010 between noon and 5 pm The exhibit is free to visitors.(BBQ available for purchase.)
4th of July Old Fashioned Parade & Celebration in the Sonoma Plaza including an eclectic parade, food, live music, and more. Fireworks at Vallejo’s Field at dusk complete this Sonoma tradition. Free. 10 am – 5 pm in the Plaza. Dusk for the fireworks.
Santa Rosa
Red, White & Boom: Kick back on the lawn and enjoy one of the largest fireworks displays in the North Bay. Picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs welcome. No alcohol or glass containers, pets tents or canopies allowed through the gate. Food booths, entertainment and more. Sonoma County Fairgrounds, Santa Rosa. Admission$7, age 6-12 $3, 5 and under free, parking is $5Â (or park free downtown) 4 pm- 10 pm.
