Free Kid’s Craft Projects
Both Lowe’s and Home Depot regularly offers free kid’s projects. This weekend, they’re both running one.
Lowe’s hosts free Build-&-Grow clinics, where kids can try their hand at putting together a variety of simple projects. Their next workshop will be Saturday, May 1, 10 am to 11 am when the kids will make a school house in honor of teacher appreciation week.
Home Depot ‘s free kids’ workshop runs the first Saturday of the month. This month’s project, on May 1 from 9 am to noon, is a picket fence planter.
On May 8th, the Lowe’s Build & Grow Clinic is making a trellis planter, similar, but not exactly like Home Depot’s picket fence planter. If Mom or Grandma is a gardener, you might want to hit both for a supply of mother’s day gifts.

Reminder: Butter & Egg Parade and Apple Blossom Festival this weekend
![]()
Every year, on the same weekend (this weekend), Petaluma holds it’s Butter & Egg Day Parade and Sebastopol holds it’s Apple Blossom Festival and Parade. As always you’ll have to chose.
The Butter and Eggs Day is a Petaluma tradition. Food, arts and crafts, and kids activities are all along parade route in the historic downtown. Also included are Cutest Chick Contest (for the 6 and under crowd) and a Cow Chip Tossing Contest. Saturday April 24. Events from 10 am to 5 pm. Parade at noon. Free. Here’s a video of last years parade.

The Sebastopol Apple Blossom Festival will be held April 24th and 25th, with their Parade down Main Street at (you guessed it) 10 am to noon, Saturday April 24th. The Festival will be held in Ives Park from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday and 10 am to 5 pm Sunday, and will include a wine garden, a quilt show, a kids area with activities and games, and two stages for live music.
The Apple Blossom Parade is free, but admission to the Festival is $7 for adults, $5 for students 11-17 and seniors, and kids 10 and under are free.
