Groupon Deal: GoCar Tour of SF

GoCar Rentals 150x150 Groupon Deal: GoCar Tour of SFToday’s Groupon is a 2.5-hour unguided, narrated GPS-guided  tour of Francisco in a GoCar for $50 (a $103 value).

GoCars are little, sunshine-yellow storytelling cars holding  up to two passengers (ages five and older) through a narrated, GPS-guided tour of Golden Gate Park, Japanese Tea Gardens, Crissy Field, Ghirardelli Square, Fisherman’s Wharf. GoCars navigate the city terrain, describing the significance of historic sights and cultural landmarks as you zoom past (with a zoom limit of 35 mph) with haste or slowly saunter by for photo ops. GoCar lets you explore at your own pace as you choose from three different narrated tour routes:

  • Downtown San Francisco: Navigate through North Beach, Chinatown, Union Square, and the Financial District for sights of the Ferry Building and Bay Bridge while humming Petula Clark.
  • Urban Parks: A hearty voyage along the coast to the Golden Gate Bridge and back through Golden Gate Park, then past Twin Peaks, Alamo Square, and Baker Beach.
  • The Mister SF Tour: See the city from the perspective of one of its gurus, Hank Donat, as you travel through diverse neighborhoods, cultural landmarks, movie locations, and more on this audio tour. This tour is ideal for locals and those looking for a slightly more intimate delving into their hometown.

GoCars are multi-lingual, fluent in Italian, Spanish, French, German and English. You must be 21 or older to rent a GoCar (and they can’t be operated on the bridge or freeways).

Not familiar with Groupon? It’s kind of fun: each day, Groupon has a new deal available to Groupies in cities across the country. ( we don’t have one for Wine Country, but we do have a Groupons for SF)  The Groupon only lasts a day (On Fridays, you have extra time to take advantage of the deal: Most of those deals are available through Sunday at midnight.)

Though you’re essentially buying coupons at a discount, they’re called Groupons because a minimum number of people need to buy them in order for everyone to get the deal. If the deal doesn’t “tip,” then you don’t get the deal; your credit card won’t be charged. Once the deal tips & you’ve officially bought the deal, you can manage your Groupons online & print them out when you’re ready to redeem them.

Oh, and there’s often a side deal, so if the main deal doesn’t interest you, scan the right side of the page for “Today’s Side Deal” to see what else is available.

FYI–I’ve linked you to my Groupon affliate page. Translation: If you buy a Groupon within 72 hours of clicking on the link, and it’s the first time you’ve bought a Groupon, I’ll receive a small credit toward a future Groupon. I tell you this because a) My site’s rules require it. and b) The FTC requires it of bloggers. If you’re going to buy your first Groupon ever & feel like sending a little love my way, use this link. Otherwise, just go to Groupon.com. Thanks!
