John Records, who has a local blog Hard Times, Good Times, has a post linking to a NYT article on obtaining Mental Health Care “on the cheap.” It’s not a new post, but it’ s an important topic, so I’m belatedly calling attention to it.

The Jewish Community Free Clinic (JCFC) is a free, volunteer-based medical clinic that offers free medical care for anyone in need (you don’t need to be Jewish).  

They offer regular Family Medicine Clinics and health consultations as well as treatment for minor health problems.  But they also offer, on Tuesdays from 3-4:30 pm, free immunizations for kids and young adults.

A parent must accompany the child (ONLY the parent or legal guardian may sign the consent form). Please bring the yellow immunization card (even if it is from out of the country). Children will be taken on a drop-in basis.

The SRJC Planetarium Show “Moon Worlds” runs Jan 22-31 and Feb 12-21, with the free First Friday Show on Feb. 5, 2010.

Although admission is FREE to the First Friday Show, donations to support SRJC’s Planetarium are gratefully appreciated.  For the other shows admission is $5 General & $3 Students and Seniors (60+)—cash or check only.

Seating is first-come, first-served. Doors open one half hour before show time. SRJC’s Planetarium is located in 2001 Lark Hall on the Santa Rosa Campus. For a map of the campus, please go to:
