Free Balance Method Program

A program about the Balance Method will be presented at the Petaluma Regional Library on Tuesday evening, February 2, 2010 at 7:15 p.m. The program will be conducted by Dana Davis. Ms. Davis, a Certified Balance Instructor and a Certified Yoga Teacher, is the owner of Sonoma Body Balance, a posture and yoga studio in Petaluma.

Participants in the workshop will learn techniques that will lead to good posture and decreased tension in the back. The beneficial result will be a lessening of low back pain.

Ms. Davis says of the program “Learn how the guidelines you’ve been taught for ‘good posture’ may be harmful to your back. Almost everyone in modern American culture has adopted a misaligned posture that is so pervasive that it’s almost invisible. This posture leads to back and joint pain, premature aging, fatigue, and loss of height. People in some other countries naturally maintain the healthy posture they had as children, avoiding most of these problems. Come learn how simple changes in your posture can make a world of difference to your comfort.”

The Balance Method program will be presented in the Helen Putnam Community Room of the Petaluma Regional Library which is located at 100 Fairgrounds Drive in Petaluma. The program is open to the public free of charge.
