Opaque-Dining in the Dark
This is just quirky enough to really appeal to me: a restaurant (in the city) that serves in the dark. Under the expert guidance of your blind or visually impaired server, you’ll be led from the bright coat check and lounge into the unlit dining room, where your sensory adventure begins. Without your eyes, you’ll be forced to engage your four other senses to their fullest during each course of your meal.
They hype it as a really romantic evening—never having had a light-deprived date, I can’t say. But it’s the Groupon deal of the day: $99 for dinner for two (a $200 value). The offer is good today only (Dec 21), and the dinner is good until 6/22/10. This Groupon does not cover tax, drinks, or gratuity and cannot be used on December 24, 25, 31, or February 14.
Disclosure: if you get to groupon with the above link and buy a groupon within 72 hours, and it’s the first groupon you’ve ever bought, I receive a few bucks that I can use for groupons. Just think of it as some compensation for a poorly compensated blogger! I tell you this because I’m inherently honest and because the FTC requires me to.
If you’d rather go to Groupon and NOT have me compensated in any way, then of course you can type in www.groupon.com. Who’s gonna stop you, right?
