Meteor Shower Tonight
The Leonids, an annual meteor shower that occurs as the Earth passes through the debris of the Comet Tempel-Tuttle, is expected to put on a show late tonight and early Wednesday morning. It should pass through a particularly dense debris field about 1 am our time, so the best viewing for insomniacs and the cold-hardy will be around 1 am, lasting until 4 am. Estimates range from 12-30 meteors an hour, but the meteors are expected to be bright, if not as plentiful as in some other meteor showers.
Unfortunately, it is also expected to by cloudy tonight, with a chance of rain.
