Free Sonoma Co. Memory Screening Nov 17
More than 50,000 Americans who have memory concerns or want to have a point of comparison for the future are expected to take advantage of free, confidential memory screenings at more than 2,000 community sites nationwide on November 17. An annual initiative of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, National Memory Screening Day is the focal point of the organization’s efforts to promote early detection of memory problems, including Alzheimer’s disease (It is estimated that missed diagnoses of dementia are greater than 25 percent of the cases and may be as high as 90 percent). Memory screenings can reassure the healthy individual, promote successful aging, and can be a first step toward a proper diagnosis if scores are below normal.
