prizes1 Two days left to enter for free Wholly Guacamole!

Quick reminder…Guacamole Day is September 16  and we’re celebrating with a  giveaway.  Three winners will each win a soft-sided cooler with 5 flavors of Wholly Guacamole (classic, spicy, pico, verde, and organic) and 2 flavors of Wholly Salsa (spicy and mild), chips for dipping and a guac/avo gift item. If you haven’t entered yet, you’ve got 48 hours. Here’s how to enter:

There are two ways to win. Leave a comment here either pairing guacamole with a wine—which wine would you drink with guac and chips? (This is wine country after all, there has to be some great choices).

OR tell me what you like to mix in with your guac. Mango? Plums? Roasted garlic? OK, I admit I’m a guac purist…give me guacamole in great heaping unadulterated scoops…I love, love, love the stuff. But I know plenty of foodies that like to doctor their guacamole with added ingredients. So offer up your suggestions.

The drawing will be random, so go ahead and get wild with your pairing or mix-in suggestions.

Wholly Guacamole is all natural, with no preservatives (it’s 96% avocado and 6% spices). It’s made with high pressure processing to keep it food safe—like cold pasteurization—the guacamole stays fresh and green for 42 days unopened in your fridge. And yes, I know I could make my own. But it’s agonizing to wait for the store bought avos to reach the perfect stage of ripeness, and I like being able to whip out guacamole when unexpected guest show up–or just when I crave that smooth rich avo taste (which probably happens too often for my waistline, but hey, Wholly Guacamole was Winner of Shape Magazine snack of the year 2008 and it’s a great ice cream craving substitute, so I can justify it.)

snack pack carrots 150x150 Two days left to enter for free Wholly Guacamole! They’ve also got 100-calorie snack packs  that you can toss in a lunch box. In fact, if you freeze the snack pack, it will keep your lunch cool and usually thaw in time for lunch or an afternoon snack. Can you tell I’m a fan?

You can sign up online to be a Wholly registered guacfan (online e-club) and get $1.00 off coupons.

So go ahead, give me your wine pairing or guac mix in suggestions here by Sept. 16, 2009  to be entered to win (sorry, USA residents only).

If you want to magically double your bowlful of guac on the cheap, just add in some finely chopped egg white. Shhh, don’t tell anyone — it’s our little secret ;)

I like to add a bit of garlic to my guac. I put in my wraps to beef up the flavor. Love guacamole in any form!!!

We really like to mix juice of a whole lime and some SnP w/ our guac.
