Free or Cheap Sonoma County Cinco de Mayo Celebrations
The holiday commemorates the Mexican army’s surprise defeat of French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. Because Cinco de Mayo falls on a workday, many are celebrating the weekend before.

Windsor Cinco de Mayo Celebration
Saturday, May 2nd, 2009 12 pm to 4pm
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo on the Windsor Town Green on Saturday May 2. This free event offers music by Mariachi Jalisco, a Ballet Folklorico performance and mucho food and beverage. Free.Windsor Town Green 9455 Bell Road Windsor
Our Lady of Guadalupe Church Tamale and Enchilada Brunch
Sunday, May 3, 2009 12 pm to 4 pm
Our Lady of Guadalupe Church will hold a Tamale and Enchilada Brunch, from 12 noon to 4 PM. Everyone is invited and we are selling advance tickets at the Church office. This is sure to be a sell out, so don’t miss it and get your tickets early. Only $10 per person. As a Special Offering on May 3, you can order Tamales To Go, 12 for only $20. You get a dozen fresh made pork or chicken Tamales, made by the women of the Guadalupe Church. Orders must be placed in advance and you can pick up you Tamales as early as 10 AM in our Drive Through, outside the kitchen door, behind the Mary Agatha Furth Center.
Roseland’s fourth annual Cinco de Mayo Festival

Roseland will present its fourth annual Cinco de Mayo Festival, co-sponsored by the city of Santa Rosa and Sonoma County, May 5thfrom 4-10 p.m. at the Roseland Shopping Center, 650 Sebastopol Road. Information: 529-8651 or 235-9453. Kid-friendly family fun, the event includes children’s activities, international foods, live music on two stages, and educational and community service booths. No alcohol will be served.
